Nintendo has finally exorcised the ghost of the Wii U, today confirming that the Switch has surpassed the lifetime sales of its beleaguered predecessor.
Whether the new title will be as successful as the original remains to be seen…. but it seems fairly certain that we can count Destiny 2 not a failure.

GAME has announced a 68% year-on-year increase in retail sales – largely due to the strong performance of the Nintendo Switch.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe sales hit 459,000 in their first day which is a tasty little 26k over the previous day one sales of big seller Mario Kart Wii.
The Nintendo Switch opens reasonably strong this weekend with a naughty 80k sales (UK only) under it’s belt. That is probably it for March though.
Apparently selling the same console 3 times over is a successful marketing strategy. Sony have proved through their PS4 sales reaching 50 million.
I sort of respect them for not bowing down to the pressure of reducing their prices for the hungry consumers desperate to throw away cash (aka me).
