The Hitman Game of the Year Edition hits shelves today celebrate the IO Interactive CEO gave a little bit of info about the assassins next game.
The Hitman franchises foray in to episodic content was a success, they trickled out missions/locations at a good pace and everyone was having a good time. It might have been the first time we’ve seen episodic content and the response to the format has been mostly positive.
Anyway, here is what IO CEO Hakan Abrak had to say about the bald buggers next trip:
“One last thing about our next Hitman game; I want to let you know that we’re making great progress and we have exciting new features and some franchise firsts, which we can’t wait to tell you all about. You’ll have to wait a little longer as we don’t plan to start talking about that until some point in 2018.”
He hasn’t said a huge amount but the new features and franchise firsts section is exciting. Hitman has a long history in gaming and I don’t really know where they could be going in terms of franchise firsts. Might be vehicles or maybe one massive open world? Wouldn’t make much sense in the context of Hitman though, seeing Agent 47 hitting all the targets in one 6 mile square area.
The only thing I can think of is multiple characters, allowing for some super elaborate accidental death set ups. If not, you can have that one for free, IO.
Hitman GOTY Edition is a collection of all previous released content as well as a new mission named Patient Zero and some new cossies/weapons. Check out the trailer below.
