The big Blizzard shindig known as Blizzcon is here so let’s look at some Blizzcon 2017 opening ceremony highlights!
Heroes of the Storm
Hanzo and Alexstrazsa are introduced to the game. This was via a nifty video showing Alex training ol‘Hanzo. Alexstrazsa is a versatile ranged support, with the obvious ability to turn into a dragon. Hanzo is a nimble ranged assassin that has a scout playstyle.
Fans can also look forward to some new improvements and additions.
Kobolds and Catacombs is the new expansion. It has an old school Dungeons and Dragons vibe. The larger than life Ben Brode even took the crowd on a mini adventure in the presentation. It looks to have plenty of fun cards that have a proper dungeon crawling air to them. It also adds a Dungeon Run single player mode where if you lose your deck is gone!
First up there was a wonderfully Blizz fanservicey map called Blizzard World shown. Chock full of references from all over the Blizzard universe, making it a hoot for hardcore fans.
A new support called Moira was announced who can deal damage and heal. She rocks a cool evil villain attitude plus has a past with both Talon and Blackwatch.
Finally we had a rad Reinhardt cinematic where young Rein and his mentor go full Boromir against the overwhelming Omnic forces.
World of Warcraft
The new expansion is called Battle for Azeroth and has a renewed focus on faction rivalry. Each faction gets a few new allied races. Two new continents in Zandalari and Kul’Tiras are debuted, both seemingly themed towards each faction. There was the usual good stuff of new raids and dungeons plus levelling an extra 10 levels, to 120. Then the new features of plundering uncharted islands and dominating warfronts.
That cinematic. Stirring stuff. We saw Sylvanas and co’s bravery and the cowardly Alliance relying on healing just to get through the battle.
Notably Classic servers rocking Vanilla WOW are also coming!
