Agents of Mayhem makes it’s way to market in a very low key fashion. The spiritual successor to Saints Row seems to be flying under the radar in an almost suspicious fashion. I adored Saints Row 2, 3 and 4 so a switch from the norm is always going to be a bit scary.

They are going for a Saturday morning cartoon style in a futuristic Seoul with you controlling a trio of larger than life characters . The unfortunate thing is that there is no co-op. Jumping into a Saints Row game with a mate was always a giggle so it is a big loss. Regardless, hopefully this spinoff is a worthy follow up to the quirky crime series.

Sonic Mania releases this week for PS4, Switch and Xbox One and if I didn’t mention this I think Craig would kill me haha. Looking to succeed where Sonic 4 failed in taking the action back to a side scrolling perspective. This time there are no pesky polygons as we go back to the classic Mega Drive style 2d look.

You play as the classic trio of Sonic, Knuckles and my personal fave Tails and go to new locales as well as the ever so familiar Green Hill Zone. Interestingly the project leader and lead programmer Christian Whitehead initially worked on ports for Classic Sonic games in his spare time then Sega nabbed him to helm this project.

Please note that the PC version releases 29th August.

Check out the retro infused action below.

Gaming as long as I can remember. Started with the OG Gameboy and Super Nintendo. Ever since powering up that grey beast games have become an important part of my life. Tekken, Mario, Zelda, Metal Gear Solid and Bayonetta all live in my heart.
